The Best App for Solo Female Travelers

Q: What’s the safest way to meet like-minded people when traveling solo?

A: It’s a mobile app that’s still in development… keep reading to learn more!

Picture this — you’re on your way to the airport, packed, with a fulsome itinerary. It's all so exciting! Then you arrive at your destination, and somewhere along the way, start to feel isolated and lonely. You see people going out, having fun, and only wish YOU had a travel buddy or local to explore with too! There may be a solution on the horizon… !

I’m proud to promote a new app in development called Those Who Travel, founded by a fellow solo female traveler!

The solo female travel app we’ve been waiting for: Those Who Travel!

Key Features:

  • SAFE: Every app user must be verified and accepted via interview

  • Not a dating site: If romance blossoms, so be it, but that is not the intention

  • Search people based on interests: Food, art, culture, extreme activities, or nightlife

  • Set privacy controls: Only allow messages from people you’ve already “liked”

The app’s founder, Jackie Clifford, is a seasoned traveler with over 30 countries and most continents under her belt. According to Jackie, the difference between a good trip and a great trip is meeting AMAZING people along the way and sharing experiences. And I’d have to agree with her sentiment!

Unfortunately, meeting people while traveling solo is easier said than done. Short-term rentals like Airbnb have replaced many hostels (aka, social hot spots!) and dating apps like Tinder are better for a finding hookup than a high-quality travel buddy.

Instead, Those Who Travel will foster a safe community where solo travelers can meet other travelers and locals. It’s a fun way to meet new people even when you’re NOT traveling abroad solo! For example, if you live in New York City, you can meet up with someone who is visiting from another destination!

The key to this new app is community. The solo travel community is currently scattered across Reddit subs and Facebook groups… there isn’t a centralized forum to safely meet like-minded new travel friends. Jackie is pioneering change for the solo travel community so that we can all have safe experiences!

But, this solo female travel app needs your help!

Those Who Travel recently launched a kickstarter campaign to fund the final stage of the app’s development. Because tech ain’t cheap, y’all.

Friends, let’s support the hard work and shared passion for solo travel of female founder, Jackie Clifford. Let’s turn her brilliant idea and dream into a reality!

Even a $1 contribution supports this valuable mission to encourage safe solo female travel!
